A Bit Of Business Today

30 Jan 2010

Hire Canadian Military is now a member of CADSI - Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries.

For us to expand and provide a better service for the Canadian military veteran, we needed to create more exposure - not only to industry, but to the Canadian military veteran. We believe we can accomplish this through close co operation with a major business association that has a membership of more than 800 major corporations.

Companies need to fill their vacancies with high quality personnel. There are approximately 4-6,000 trained Canadian military personnel who leave the service of their country every year and join their civilian counterparts as employees of companies across Canada. Many companies do not realize the value of a Canadian military veteran. Not because they are not interested - they simply have not been exposed to a Canadian veteran.

We hope this additional exposure will also allow us to highlight the value of a trained, experienced, dedicated and honourable Canadian military veteran to Canadian Industry.

So - to quote the CADSI site - I lifted the following for you to read:

CADSI is the voice of Canada’s defence and security industries.

Our business association represents over 800 member companies who are essential contributors to Canada’s national defence and security and generate over 10 billion dollars to the Canadian economy every year.

Our website provides valuable information on our member companies, as well as the various programs, services and initiatives CADSI provides.

The CADSI mission fits with our business plan and I believe it is one that needs to be broadcast to our readers as CADSI is a strong leader and advocate in Canada:

The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) is a not-for-profit national business association that represents the Canadian defence and security industries. Formerly the Canadian Defence Industries Association, CADSI represents 800 member companies selling to the defence and public security markets.  The industries employ over 70,000 Canadians and generate $10 billion in annual revenues, roughly 50% of which comes from international sales. CADSI member companies are of all sizes and offer a wide spectrum of goods and services to its customers, and to business partners in Canada, the United States, and internationally.

Our Vision

CADSI is recognized as the national business association that represents the Canadian defence and security industries in Canada and globally .

Our business is national defence and security.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster an environment for member firms to thrive in the domestic and international defence and security marketplaces, thereby contributing to Canada's defence and security goals.

To achieve this mission, CADSI supports its member firms through:

* Advocacy - Representing the interests of industry to the federal government, opinion leaders and the general public.

* Business Development - Facilitating access to decision makers in Canada and internationally, researching industry trends, trade missions, trade shows, and a defence and security almanac.

*
Networking - Providing monthly networking events for members to develop teaming, subcontracting and customer relationships.

*
Member Services - Offering educational seminars, website profiling, access to the most current defence and security intelligence, affinity programs and group insurance.

CADSI is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by a professional staff at the Association's headquarters in Ottawa.

We are very excited at the potential this creates for our client - the Canadian military veteran.

Hire Canadian Military will be a sponsor of the upcoming CANSEC event 2-3 June 2010.
