  • Epping's draw to button seals Players' Championship title

    Toronto's John Epping upset Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., 7-6 on Sunday to win the men's final at the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling Players' Championship. Epping drew to the button on the game's final shot to clinch the win in Summerside, P.E.I.



  • Saskatoon's Stefanie Lawton wins curling Players' Championship

    Saskatoon's Stefanie Lawton defeated Winnipeg's Cathy Overton-Clapham 7-3 in the women's final of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling Sun Life Financial Players' Championship in Summerside on Saturday afternoon.



  • Middaugh downs Nedohin rink to secure semifinal berth

    Sherry Middaugh stayed alive at curling's Players' Championship with a 6-5 tiebreak win over Heather Nedohin on Friday in Summerside, P.E.I. Middaugh, from Coldwater, Ont., will face Winnipeg's Cathy Overton-Clapham in the semifinal round.



  • Scott grabs bragging rights in curling’s Howard family

    Scott and his father Glenn Howard recently celebrated their victory at the world men's curling championship. On Thursday, they were opponents at the Players' Championship and the youngster came through with an upset 6-3 victory with John Epping's rink.



  • Glenn Howard's rink a step closer to berth in Olympic trials

    Glenn Howard scored three points in the seventh end and earned a key 8-5 in over Mike McEwen in Draw 5 action at the Players' Championship. Howard's Ontario rink improved to 2-0 and can claim a berth in the 2013 Olympic trials by reaching the semifinals.



  • Overton-Clapham edges Muirhead at Players' Championship

    Cathy Overton-Clapham did not have much room to work with, but her game-winning shot concluded the opening women's draw of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night.



  • Canada's Howard wins 4th world curling crown

    Canada's Glenn Howard has won his fourth world men's curling championship. The Coldwater, Ont., skip and his team of Craig Savill, Brent Laing and Wayne Middaugh beat Scotland 8-7 in an extra end at Basel, Switzerland.



  • Canada's Nedohin claims bronze at world curling championship

    Canada's Heather Nedohin won the bronze medal at the women's world curling championship, defeating South Korea 9-6 on Sunday in Lethbridge, Alta.

    Four-time world champion Randy Ferbey is retiring from competitive curling. He says he made the decision just over a week ago.



  • Canadian fills in for German skip at women's curling worlds

    Canadian-born Melanie Robillard will skip Germany at the women's world curling championship starting Saturday.
