For Canadian Forces Families with Special Needs & ResponsibilitiesI ran over this website quite by accident during a web search. I thought I might mention it here. While I am sure that many know about this site, it is possible there are some who do not. So, if you are in the military and have a special needs child, are supporting a partner with health concerns, are supporting aging parents or you simply need to find some direction – have a look at this site. I will also create a link to it for future reference in the web “Links” section. Pass the word along to your friends. Perhaps it will provide assistance to someone you know – maybe even one of your own family or a close friend. It never hurts to extend a helping hand to those we live and work with. Are you networking?Have you ever thought about taking the time to actually connect with other business professionals, other military personnel from around the world or perhaps even thought about forming a professional group of your own? There is power to networking and it is never too late to start. Staying in touch with your current contacts and reconnecting with old or lost ones is a critical part of establishing your professional identity. It also helps you make those vital connections with professionals who can help you find that perfect new career. Why not explore www.linkedin.com ? If you do decide to join, make sure you join the LinkedIn group “Hire Canadian Military”. If you do join this group you will get a welcome message from the owner. Be sure to respond to that welcome message by sending the owner (me) an invitation to connect. I will be happy to connect with you. My list of contacts may be able to assist you in your search for that perfect job you are looking for. Finally, are you passing information along to others? This is called "paying forward". By doing this for others, eventually others may do it for you! It is all part of the networking strategy.
